Genalog Value Added Range

Ever since Genalog started selling connectors and cables we have always offered an assembly service. With our emphasis on offering a complete design-in service the ability to manufacture prototypes harnesses, pre-production and small production batches has proved invaluable to many of our customers.

Recently our value added service has dramatically expanded. With the introduction of UL approval (ZPFW2/ZPFW8) in addition to our ISO9001 approval we have made a strong investment in both automated production equipment and key personnel so that today our assembly service constitutes nearly a third of our total business.

As well as providing our technical expertise to any new cable assembly requirements, and being able to offer advantageous pricing from our manufacturing partners, we are also able to offer our distribution experience and knowledge to this commodity. Lots of our customers are under extreme pressure not only to reduce costs but also to reduce onsite inventory. At Genalog we are able to offer manufactured cable assemblies in the same way as individual components through a whole host of manufacturing programs such as KANBAN, POURS, JIT, Consignment stock etc. The added bonus of this feature is that not only does the customer reduce his onsite inventory but also his commitment to finished goods so, in the event that an assembly needs to be up issued to the next revision, there is only a relatively small number of finished assemblies he need take.
With our investment in automated and semi-automated production equipment, manufacturing times have reduced. Overheads have always been kept to a minimum and with the additional services we offer, we have successfully secured business that may have otherwise gone offshore.

Customers can be confident that in addition to the quality of our distribution service, the quality of our production capabilities is assured as all of our production staff have been trained and certified to IPC/WHMA-A-620. This is in addition to our UL ZPFW2/ZPFW8 and ISO9001 approvals. We have also been independently audited and approved by a number of our key customers

We have production equipment for the following connector manufacturers: 3M, Tyco/Amp, Amphenol, Bel-Stewart, Cinch, Circuit Assemblies, Cinch, Deutsch, Don Connex, FCI, Fischer, Glenair, Harting, Harwin, ITT Cannon, JST, Kings Electronics, Lemo, Lumberg, Molex, ODU, Oupin, Radial, Souriau, Takbro, Viking and Yamaichi amongst others.

We build in batches of 1 to 1000’s and supply harness to a whole raft of different markets, from very basic single wire assemblies to highly complex, laced looms for Military and Transport applications. High quality inspection is controlled via our approval procedures and each assembly is 100% tested using our Cirrus test equipment.
